“Non-Christians Go Home!”

October 3, 2003: “Non-Christians Go Home!”

This was my first foray into real politics in my comic strips, beyond the rather obvious politics around the Iraq War. At the time, I didn’t go into much detail about the story other than linking to the website of one of the conservative groups protesting (you can read about the whole story here; it eventually did go before the Supreme Court, who ruled against the display). I was just so, well, dumbstruck at the big hubbub over the case that I was moved to draw something about it. As I started following more general news, these sort of topics would pop up more often in my comics, reflecting what was on my mind at the time.
