The title is a bit misleading. Having lived in Savannah for seven years at this point, I had certainly encounter heavy rains and street floodings. However, this was my first time having to deal with it first-hand as a car owner.
When I rescanned and remade this strip (because my original digital files were lost), I debated about including the bottom panel. When I originally created this, I was struggling quite a bit to find the words and images to express myself and capture the world. I kind of wish I’d made an attempt at drawing what I saw. But I think, in the overall flow of this multi-year work, it’s appropriate to recognize my limitations at the time.
